Hypnotherapy Training in Bristol and the South West

If you live in Bristol, Somerset or elsewhere in the South West, finding accredited hypnotherapy training close to home can make a real difference. Weekend training is far easier to fit around work and family when you aren't travelling across the country. Here's what training with us looks like if you live in our region.

Where does the in-person training take place?

Our in-person modules are taught at Mendip Spring Golf & Country Club in Congresbury, North Somerset. The full address is Mendip Spring Golf & Country Club, Honeyhall Lane, Congresbury, Bristol, North Somerset BS49 5JT. It offers in-person teaching in a calm, welcoming and professional setting. Seven of our ten diploma modules are taught there, and the other three are delivered live online via Zoom.

How far is Mendip Spring from Bristol?

Mendip Spring is in Congresbury, North Somerset, near Bristol and Weston-super-Mare, with good links to the M5 and M4. That makes it easy to reach from across Bristol, Somerset and the wider South West. On training days, refreshments, lunch and complimentary parking are all included, so you can simply arrive and focus on learning.

Is there hypnotherapy training near Weston-super-Mare, Bath or Taunton?

Yes — our North Somerset venue is within reach for many people across the South West. If you live further afield, you'll also benefit from the fact that three of the ten modules (Modules 3, 6 and 8) are taught live on Zoom, so you only travel for seven training weekends across the year.

What course do you offer?

We offer an NCH-accredited Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma with 120 live teaching hours over ten modules. You'll work towards the NHTA Level 4 Diploma in Clinical Solution Focused and Integrative Hypnotherapy (NHTA Dip.CSFIH), with the option of also working towards the Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma — HPD (NCH). The APHP recognises our CPD training, the course offers a route into NCH and APHP professional membership, and eligible graduates may apply for CNHC registration through an approved verifying organisation.

Full details are on our hypnotherapy training course page.

    10 & 11 April 2027, in person

Why train locally rather than online only?

Hypnotherapy is a hands-on skill, and practising in the room with tutors and fellow students builds real confidence. Training locally also means the peer group you build may well become your local professional network after you qualify — people you can refer to, swap ideas with and support. Between modules you'll continue learning through our online Hub with regular monitoring and feedback.

Can I practise with clients in my area while training?

Yes, once you're ready. From Module 7, you may begin working with members of the public at a reduced student rate, subject to readiness, appropriate supervision and course guidance. Readiness includes insurance and DBS arrangements where required and demonstrated competence in consultation and practical skills. You'll complete at least five formal case studies alongside wider supervised practice.

Who teaches the course?

Our founders, Lisa Williams Edgar and Angie Hayes, lead the Diploma. Both are practising clinical therapists, supported by experienced lecturers, supervisors and specialist CPD trainers who all work with clients alongside teaching.

How much does it cost?

£3,475 in total, as ten monthly payments of £347.50, or £3,325 if you pay in full at the start — a saving of £150. The fee covers the full training year and assessment for the Academy diploma.

Do you offer support for South West therapists after qualifying?

Yes. After you qualify, we offer supervision as a separate paid service, and CPD events for practising hypnotherapists.

What should I look for in a South West hypnotherapy course?

Check the accreditation, the balance of in-person and live teaching, and how client practice is supervised. We're an NCH Accredited Training School, the APHP recognises our CPD training, and our Diploma includes 120 live teaching hours and supports students through supervised practice and case studies.
