Do You Think Yourself Lucky? Andy Workman

No, it wasn’t a Clint Eastwood like challenge, (I may have been a cop in the past, but I was no Dirty Harry) - it’s a genuine question. Do you consider yourself naturally lucky or are you one of those people who just knows that everything will go wrong the second they try, touch or even consider it?

As an experienced hypnotherapist, I have lost count of how many of my clients (and friends and family) have come out with expressions like, “But that’s just my luck!”. Rarely do they say it in a positive tone of voice - that is until I’ve had a few words with them.

You see, positivity and gratitude make a HUGE difference to our lives. I won’t be the first person, or the last, to have extolled the use of positive self-talk or affirmations to most of the clients or random acquaintances I meet, but I may be the first to convince them that it’s not just ‘woo woo’.

We’ve all heard of the 'Law of Attraction’ or ‘Cosmic Ordering’ and, of course, we’ve all come across the concept of ‘praying’ for health, good fortune or love, but some find that harder to embrace than others. If we advise some people to think positively, they will do their best to adopt that frame of mind on our recommendation alone. Others might meet our same advice with negative responses ranging from scepticism to contempt, or even offering some return advice along the lines of us needing some form of mental help ourselves.

The good news is that we can offer that guidance with confidence, in the knowledge that research has proven that the way we think DOES have a very strong influence on our everyday reality. It’s not witchcraft, voodoo or delusion, it’s proven fact. The best part is that much of the research has been conducted by scientists and academics who have actually conducted their experiments with a strong belief that they will be able to prove that luck is a fictitious concept, only to find that it is not.

So, having said that, can we change our luck for the better? Are we destined to be lucky or unlucky or is it possible for us to change our fortune? And, if it is possible, how do we convince the sceptic client?

The answers are, yes we can influence our luck and that of our clients, friends and family and we can do so by adopting the eight common traits shared by lucky people. What are they? Well, in order to have time to explain them properly, I have created a CPD Event called “The Psychology of Luck”.

If you’d like to improve your enjoyment of every day and have some invaluable answers to offer to those awkward client questions, come and join us for the workshop.

If you apply now, you may be LUCKY enough to secure your place on: Saturday 1st June from 2pm-5pm BST.
